AFR on scene: BlogFest – 1/27/2013

Posted on January 27, 2013 by A's Fan Radio

A complete type up on FanFest will be posted later today. In the mean time, here are the questions and answers from AFR’s part take in BlogFest. Photos taken by AFR photographer Kristy Salminen from both BlogFest and FanFest to be posted on our Facebook page later today:

Session 1: Manger Bob Melvin

Q: How will the addition of Hiro benefit Oakland? (AFR Producer Keith “Cpl RFA” Salminen)

A: Its tougher to get international players that are great defenders. Hiro loves to be the man and a leader and most of the guys from Japan that are leaders there pan out well in the U.S., i.e. Ichiro and Hideki Matsui, and I’m looking forward to seeing what he can bring to the table.

Session 2: Assisant GM David Forst

No questions asked by listeners or cast

Session 3: 3rd Base Coach Mike Gallego

Q: after watching last year’s A’s shock the world, how do you think this year’s team will preform? (AFR photographer Kristy Salminen)

A: SHHHH! Stay under the radar! If you look at the general media out there, they picked us to finish, what, 3rd last year? The expectation in the locker room is to do your job and make sure guys aren’t dogging it and to get on them if they are. They will give you fans a great game everyday and bring a great attitude to the park everyday.

We thank everyone that sent us questions and are sorry that due to the flow of BlogFest that not all could be answered.
