This past Saturday, zennie62blog.com posted a write up stating that a business man, Ed Roski, from Torrance, CA wants to buy the Oakland Raiders with the intent of moving them back to Los Angeles as well as that expected financing for the Coliseum City project did not come through and that the project is now doomed. He stats that a “high-ranking source” shared this information with him.
Sunday evening, sources close to A’s Fan Radio shared that both the Raiders and Oakland officials have been contacted about this write up by Zennie and both confirmed that this information posted by Zennie62 is 100% not true & false.
The Raiders stated that they have not been contacted by anyone from Torrance and even if they where that the team is not for sale. Meetings with Oakland about getting a new stadium built are on going. A lot of what Zennie has typed in his report is news dating back to Mark Davis’ press conference after taking over the team when the chance of going back to LA was brought up, but has since shifted to focusing on staying in Oakland.
Oakland recently just moved into the 2nd phase of the Coliseum City Environmental Impact Report and is not even close to getting financing plans together for the project yet. In fact, the JPA will be presenting the first part of the EIR report, which contains the financial break down on what will cost what, on Monday July 15 in an open to the public meeting at Oakland City Hall at 11:30 am PST.
So Zennie is ether:
1) making up stories just to stir a pot that is already filled with lies similar to one blogger that we already know who dose this same thing with talks of keeping the A’s in Oakland
2) Whoever this ” high-ranking source” is gave Zennie false information and instead of following up on it, he ran with it.
Please don’t let this guy’s post fool you because he doesn’t have the right information. This same guy put up a post in 201o saying that Oakland was going to be rejected by MLB for San Jose and, gee what was he, wrong!
You can trust me when I say that our sources knows more about what is going down with Coliseum City and the Raiders than Zennie does.
