Its an edition of A’s Fan Radio that has been in the making for a little over a year and half now, but former Oakland Tribune sports writer Dave Newhouse is finally set to make his long over due return as a guest host on the show. This marks the second appearance by Dave on “your #1 source for everything and anything on your OAKLAND Athletics”, having previous guest hosted on the 2012 MLB Playoff Edition of the show back on 10/4/2012 at Ricky’s in San Leandro.

“Its an honor to once again have Dave make an appearance on the show,” said show producer Keith Salminen, who like many of us here growing up here in the Bay Area read many of Newhouse’s various sports write ups through out the years and meet Dave in person for the first time during a 2002 broadcast of RaiderFanRadio at Ricky’s. “Dave approached me back in 2014 during a BaseballOakland TV tailgate at the Kingfish Pub about coming on the show again. Its taken some time as he has just wrapped up writing another book not too long ago, along with both Bauce Man and I being tied up in efforts to keep all 3 sports teams in Oakland, but its finally happening once again. I also know both Bauce Man and Ballistic Bill look forward to doing this show as well as they weren’t part of the cast the last time we had Dave on.”

Show #147: Dave Newhouse Returns will broadcast TONIGHT from 6 to 8 pm PST at Dub-6 Studios. While this show will be one of the rare times AFR will run into the beginning of an Oakland Athletics game, this may be one time (given how they have been playing as of late, lol) you may want to skip out on the beginning of the game.
