William Stephens, better known to A’s fans as Ballistic Bill, makes his 1st live appearance on A’s Fan Radio in 7 years as well as his 1st live show as a member of the show’s cast for back to back editions.

We’ll catch up on what went down in Brooklyn New York after his last trip out here, what he has plan for these two weeks back home, see if he is still mad about the A’s adding Manny Ramirez and, for the 1st time live in Oakland, do his “Ballistic Bullshit w/ Ballistic Bill” segment.

We will aslo recap all the games from the Tampa Bay Series through today’s aftertoon finale with the Rangers, preview The Battle of The Bay games in San Francisco and rematch with the Halos in Oaktown, the latest shots fired in The Battle to Keep the A’s in Oakland, preview a great event set to take place at Banner Island Ballpark in July and as always more on your #1 source for everything & anything on your OAKLAND Athletics, A’S FAN RADIO!

Official site hits over 4,000 visits, reminder of no show this Thursday night – 5/8/2012

Yesterday, the AFR main site went over 4,000 visits! We again thank you, the fans, for the on going support of our show.

After 5 years, AFR comes “home” – 5/3/2012

On 5/3/2012, A’s Fan Radio made its 1st broadcast in over 5 years at the cafe & bar located on the corner of 5th Ave & E 12th St near Downtown Oakland.

The last time any post was made about A’s Fan Radio from this location was the summer of 2007, during the final year of the 1st running of the show. It was great after all this time to come back and do AFR where it all began at La Estrellita Cafe & Bar near Lake Merrit & Laney College in Oakland.

One new feature you will see about A’s Fan Radio this time around is that we will have the cast up on the stage. Plans are in the works for a show banner to hang behind the cast for the webcast videos of the show and other new features in the months to come to enhance the AFR expereance at La E.

We thank Jose and the rest of the crew past & present during the show’s running at the cafe & bar and are looking forward to again working with them having the show here on the final Thursday of each month through September.

The upcoing show dates for La Estrellita are: 5/31, 6/28, 7/26, 8/30 & 9/27. Show will broadcast live in front of live audiance & Ustream Channel from 8 pm – 10 pm PST. Playoff(s?!) dates TBA.

StAy sAfe and see you all during our next show on May 17th. Stand by as well for the May 24th show as Ballistic Bill will be live on the show for the 1st time since 2005.

Cpl RFA & Jose get wi-fi issues hammered out, Show #17 set to take place 5/3

After having issues with reconnecting to the wi-fi at La Estrellita before last night’s grand return to our old stomping grounds was set to go, AFR Producer Keith “Cpl RF Asshole” Salminen and La Estrellita owner Jose meet earlier today to figure the problem out. As they both now feel they know what caused the problem, which seems to have been people living above the bar going on the wi-fi right at 8 pm PST yesterday causing us to not regain a connection, Jose will have the wi-fi password protected for the upcoming May 5th show and all other broadcasts we do there in the future so we will only get into it for the show. Jose will also have a tech come in to make sure there aren’t any other problems.

Cpl RFA also spoke with former AFR producer Francis Brooks about how we got around this possible same problem from 2003-2007, which is to bring a 50 foot internet cord to plug into ether a phone jack or the machine that transmits the wi-fi itself.

We are again sorry we could not bring you the show last night, but be sure to join us next Thursday as we will do “Take 2” on our return to our “home”.

Ricky’s show moved to normal location, time slot on Thursday

As a result of CSN Bay Area not covering the game from Japan live on Wednesday as well as ROOT Sports (the Mariners’ TV network) being blacked out in the Bay Area and MLB Network tape delaying it till 6 am PST, Ricky and AFR sadly had to cancel the event we had planned for Wednesday from 1 am through the game. We as well as Ricky are sorry that this mess took place and are among all of you who are madder than hell CSN dropped the ball once again and Lew Wolff being Lew Wolff isn’t even bothering to make a big deal about it not being shown live here. Ricky in light of this event as also agreed for us to do a show at some point during the 2012 season live from the bar. More on that will come as the season moves on.

With that being said, we will broadcast our Japan Series Edition show at our normal time from The Leon Pad Thursday night at 8 pm PST. StAy tuned & stAy safe till then.
